“I’m not going anywhere with you.” I hiss, slapping away his hand.
“Not in this condition, no.” His hand pressed against my chest and smoke encircled my torso. When it cleared, I was able to sit up and twist and turn without pain. I looked up at him in amazement but that quickly faded as I covered myself with the sheet,
“So you healed me, so what? That doesn’t mean I’ll go with you.”
The man grinned and took my hand, pulling me to my knees. Quickly, he pulled me into a deep kiss, holding me against him as I struggled against his body. When I was finally able to pull away, a tight, shiny red dress had appeared on my body. “Let’s go,” he grinned, licking his lips as he tightly grabbed my hand and pulled me against him.
More smoke surrounded us and when it cleared, we were standing on a golden road that led to a set of large, white and gold gates. Two of the guards, both angels, approached us but the man just held up a hand and they stepped back, opening the gate for him. “Where are we?” I asked as he dropped me to my feet. I turned around to watch the gates close behind us, but my vision was blocked by wings.
The man’s hand gently stroked the feathers, “Mm, I thought coming here would naturally bring them out. We’re at the only place that could be so disgusting, Heaven.”
“Why did you bring me here?” Looking around, the place was awfully quiet. There were plenty of people, but all of them looked so sad and gloomy. Tables filled with different foods, desserts, and drinks were scattered around the entire area as well as lots of areas for recreational activities but no one was talking to eachother. Instead, all the angels were merely sitting on the ground, staring off into nothing; some even had tears in their eyes. “It’s depressing...”
As we continued down the golden road, two angels looked at us and gasped. “I-Is it her?” I heard the female ask the man. “It looks like her, but... Her wings.”
The man pulled the female angel into his arms, covering her eyes as we walked past. “Onyx...” he whispered, but when I turned back to look at him both angels were gone.
“See how boring it is here? White, pure. Take a guess at the percentage of the people accepted into this place a year.” The man grinned and stroked my hair as we stopped in the road.
“Fifty?” I asked, knowing that was way over the mark.
“Eight. While people may think they live like saints, they can’t stray from the temptations offered on Earth.” He ran his thumb over my lips but I slapped his hand away. “Typically, the angels here are sent down to Earth to try and help the mortals become pure, but many fail or even die on the job.”
I looked around at all the angels, who were now staring at me and whispering amongst themselves with fingers pointed at my wings. I shifted and pulled my wings around me, hugging me a bit as I stared at the red-tipped feathers.
“No need to be embarrassed.” The man plucked a feather from my wings and stroked it a bit with his thumb. “Let’s go somewhere more entertaining.”
Once more, smoke enshrouded us but this time, even before it cleared, I was able to hear where we were. Loud music played in the distance and the sound of laughter, groans, and conversation mixed in, both struggling to be louder over the other. The smoke cleared and I stared off a balcony into a large sea of people, houses, and entertainment facilities. It seemed much livelier than the last place, but this had a lot more red. Red buildings, the cave-like ceiling was tinted red and even the pool water was a light shade of red.
“Welcome to my home.”
I turned to the man and stared at him, “You’re... But.” His finger pressed against my lips and he grinned,
“You’re slow, huh? Call me Lucifer.”
Before I head off to work, might as well post another chapter. Barely at 10k words, I may be able to power-type the rest of this out before the end of the month but then again, I may be hella lazy. Not likely, but the next chapter or something may not come to be until Thursday night? Still fun just writing and posting it, not really caring how it turned out. I like it.
